JACK THE GIANT SLAYER

On Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 February, press from around the world travelled to Hampton Court Palace for the international press junket of JACK THE GIANT SLAYER. British actors, Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson and Ewan McGregor were joined by co-star Stanley Tucci and visionary director Bryan Singer at the historic royal location where many of the film's scenes were shot.

The grandeur of the palace and gardens was the perfect setting for the two-day junket as the cast met with press from across the globe and braved the winter chill to complete a photocall featuring the palace and giant props from the film. Press enjoyed the beauty of their surroundings as they were treated to stand-up opportunities and tours of Hampton Court Palace.

CLOUD ATLAS

Renowned British actor Hugh Grant stepped onto the red carpet at the Curzon Mayfair for the Gala Screening of CLOUD ATLAS on Monday 18th February. Grant was joined by fellow British cast members Jim Sturgess, James D’Arcy, Jim Broadbent, Ben Wishaw, as well as visionary directors Andy Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, Lana Wachowski, and producer Grant Hill. Also in attendance was author of the original novel and screenwriter David Mitchell. Despite freezing temperatures, the stars happily greeted and posed for pictures with attending film fans and spoke with a variety of UK press, ahead of the films cinematic release on 22 February 2013.

THE HOBBIT

On Wednesday 12 December 2012, Leicester Square played host to the Royal Film Performance of THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, with HRH Prince William in attendance. Thousands of film fans gathered together to greet the stars of the sensational adaptation of the J.R.R Tolkein classic, including Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellan, Cate Blanchett and visionary director Sir Peter Jackson. Autographs signed and interviews wrapped with over 50 crews from across the globe, the carpet was cleared to make way for the arrival of HRH Prince William, who after waving to the crowds proceeded into the Odeon Leicester Square to greet attending stars and watch THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY in sensational 3D.

CLOUD ATLAS

Organised by DDA, acclaimed film-makers Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer and Andy Wachowski presented their film CLOUD ATLAS to the Russian audience on Thursday 1st November. Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving and Doona Bae also attended the premiere in Moscow. The group then travelled on to Berlin where they were joined on Monday 5th November by fellow cast members Tom Hanks, James D’Arcy, Ben Whishaw and producers Grant Hill, Stefan Arndt and Uwe Schott for the red carpet German premiere.

Film-makers and key cast members completed two full days of press in each city with Russian, German and European media.

PUSHER

On Thursday 4th October actress and former super model Agyness Deyn traded in the runway for the red carpet at the Hackney Picturehouse for the gala screening of her new film, PUSHER. Agyness was joined on the red carpet by fellow cast members Richard Coyle, Zlatko Buric, Mem Ferda, Bronson Webb, the beautiful Daisy Lewis and Suki Waterhouse, director Luis Prieto, executive producer Nicolas Winding Refn and musical directors Orbital. After the gala screening the audience were treated to a Q& A with Agyness, Richard, Luis and Nicolas hosted by Jason Solomons, before they made their way to the after party at The Hoxton Pony.

HOLY MOTORS

On Tuesday 18 September, singing superstar Kylie Minogue showed off her chassis at the Curzon Mayfair for the UK Premiere of the critically acclaimed HOLY MOTORS which was screening to over 30 independent cinemas throughout the UK. Kylie was joined by director Leos Carax and they rounded up the evening with a Q&A hosted by the Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw taking questions from audiences across the country.

ANNA KARENINA

On Tuesday 4 September, Hollywood A-listers Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Taylor- Johnson graced the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square for the World Premiere of the cinematic adaptation of Tolstoy’s tragic Russian love story, Anna Karenina. They were joined by fellow cast members Matthew MacFadyen, Olivia Williams, writer Tom Stoppard and Director Joe Wright. The premiere was an elegant affair, with the tone set by the exquisite dresses and beautiful chandeliers. The sterling cast were also joined on the red carpet by other famous faces such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Juno Temple.

A FEW BEST MEN

On Wednesday 22 August, the Soho Hotel played host to a special screening of the most irreverent comedy of the year, A Few Best Men. Director Stephan Elliott attended with leading men Kevin Bishop and Kris Marshall, as well as the star of the show Ramsy the Ram, who arrived bedecked in bra, panties and all important lipstick. Also in attendance was writer Dean Craig and producers Laurence Malkin and Gary Hamilton, who joined Stephan, Kevin and Kris to introduce the film.

Guests were also treated to drinks and photos with Ramsy, which made the night as fun as the film itself. A Few Best Men is in cinemas on 31 August.

THE EXPENDABLES 2

The big guns were out in force last night at The Expendables 2 premiere at Empire, Leicester Square, as screen legends Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean Claude Van Damme, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren stormed the red carpet.

Also no stranger to the action scene was British-born hunk, Scott Adkins who arrived in style to greet his screaming fans. Director Simon West and producer Avi Lerner also took the time to chat to fans about their all-guns-blazing spectacle.

As if this event wasn’t star-studded enough already, London 2012 triple gold medallist and legend in his own right, Usain Bolt attended the premiere to catch up with the stars of the film. To complete the action-hero theme to this hotly anticipated event, a select group of Royal Marines were present and proved to be a hit with both the stars of the film and the fans.

THE LORAX

Sunny Birmingham rolled out the ORANGE carpet for The Lorax UK premiere on Sunday 22 July at the Cineworld Broad Street. Hollywood legend Danny DeVito was there to greet the fans along with a real life Lorax who handed out hugs. Just in time for London 2012, Team USA’s Olympians also attended, with high jumpers, hurdlers and pole vaulters all bounding down the red carpet. Fun in the foyer with cupcakes, candy floss and face paints completed a fun day in the sunshine.

SOMETHING FROM NOTHING: THE ART OF RAP

On Thursday 20 July history was made at the Hammersmith Apollo when hip-hop heavyweights Ice-T, Raekwon, Chuck D and Melle Mel were reunited on stage at the European premiere of Ice-T's directorial debut Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap in London for a once-in-a-lifetime performance.

Fans got up close and personal with the superstar rappers at the premiere as their heroes mingled with them before the premiere screening of the hip-hop documentary. They then took to the stage to WOW the crowds with their rapping skills with Ghostface Killah joining them on stage. The film, Q&A and performance were simulcast to over 70 cinemas across the UK and Europe after which the performers performed a freestyle encore for the 1000’s of fans at the Hammersmith Apollo.

 

Other celebrities who enjoyed the once in a lifetime event included Ice-T’s wife Coco, Tinie Tempah, Pixie Lott, Jeremy Piven and Simon Webb.
