Narnia - Prince Caspian
On Thursday June 19th Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media transformed one of London’s most iconic landmarks, the 02 Arena, into a giant Narnia Wonderland providing a fitting backdrop to the UK’s largest ever film premiere. The cast in attendance included Liam Neeson, Ben Barnes, Anna Popplewell, William Moseley, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, David Walliams, Vincent Grass and Cornell S John and Director Andrew Adamson.
Prince Caspian’s sword is set to slay records with:
- The BIGGEST ever single audience for a film premiere in the UK
- The LARGEST cinema screen ever constructed in Europe at 91 ft x 38 ft
- The LARGEST ever venue for a film screening in Europe
Held at the world's no 1 entertainment venue and Europe’s most popular live music venue, the 02 Arena, the event featured:
- A giant archway – Re-creating the gateway to Narnia
- A huge 190 METRE long red carpet
- A massive purpose built stage with big screen showing live pictures from the event
- Telmarine Soldiers, Fighting knights and Horseback sword performers
- 10,000 people walking the red carpet at the UK’s first true "People’s Premiere"
- Uniquely configured "Rock and Roll" size 50,000 watt sound system to deliver HiFi Cinema Sound to all 10,000 seats
- Specially configured & delayed surround system creating a "super-theatre" in the O2
The event was in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. The Walt Disney Company recently launched a partnership with Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity to raise £10m towards the redevelopment appeal. Disney will help fund a new café, restaurant and Disney Interactive Zone for the patients and their families.
